And some more Gorilla Tough Stories...
The Gorilla Goes Water Skiing
Last summer, the eyelet on my boat broke off, and it just so happened to be the weekend that I was planning on taking friends water tubing. Normally a boat tow eyelet needs to be "through bolted" because of the tremendous torque that a tuber exerts. But being far away from the nearest hardware store, I used some Gorilla Glue to hold the broken eyelet in place. Not only did it last all day, but it actually lasted for weeks afterwards. Thanks.
Gorilla Tape Keeps Us Dry
During the recent flooding in Cincinnati, OH I used Gorilla Tape to "hopefully" keep my on site storage unit dry. I used plastic and Gorilla Tape to accomplish this task. The plastic was wrapped around the unit up to about 3 feet in height, and the Gorilla Tape was placed along the plastic. We threw a tarp over the front door, and Gorilla Tape was used to secure the tarp in place. This unit sits about 50 feet from the Ohio River in the Village of California at our river camp. The water was about 14 inches deep, and I am happy to report, the unit was completely dry when we returned to check on things. Other items weren't so fortunate, but your Gorilla Tape came through for me. Thank you!!
Gorilla Glue Saves A Mahogany Table
I have a mahogany formal dining table that my wife and I spent several thousand dollars on about 6 years ago. We moved last year and three of the legs were completely split and ruined by our moving company. We filed a claim and received a fourth of what the table cost from the movers. We had a furniture repair specialist take a look, who told us it was beyond repair. Last weekend, my wife convinced me to try and fix it, as we could not find a replacement. I bought some expensive wood glue, but was not able to get it back to where I wanted it. I went to my local hardware store, told them what I was doing and was given a bottle of Gorilla Glue without hesitation. Gorilla Glue, clamps and few screw in "L" brackets later the table is literally sturdier now than when I bought it. My wife could not believe it this morning when we took the clamps off. Thanks for saving my table!!!
500 Miles Worth of Gorilla Tape
I am a runner, 63 yrs old, veteran of 12 marathons. My biomechanics causes heavy wear on the outer midsole of my running shoes. Where normal running friends of mine would get 400 miles or so from a good pair of running shoes, I could get maybe 250. About 18 months ago, I used Gorilla Tape on the wear portion of my running shoe soles. I generally put on three layers and trim the excess outer edge with a scissors. It wears off, and I re-apply about every other run, but it does the job and saves my soles. Also by keeping the sole wear down, the shoe is more mechanically correct, and therefore I don't risk possible injury by running in worn shoes. It also stays on when I'm running on wet ground or snow. I'm easily getting 500 or more miles now out of each pair, and at $100 a pop, that's significant. Thank you for a superb product.
