Tough Stories

Thank you to everyone who submitted a Gorilla story last year! We are looking forward to a 2010 filled with Gorilla Tough Stories.  It looks like we are off to a good start!  Get comfortable and enjoy these stories about how Gorilla Glue has helped in various ways...  Some stories are about the amazing, some about the every-day, and some are somewhere in-between, but all display the toughness of the Gorilla.

Gorilla Makes it to the Top of Mount Kilimanjaro!!

The Gorilla has climbed to extraordinary heights!  It's not everyday that you are able to see the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, but leave it to Gorilla Glue to make it there.  The Gorilla reached the summit and was used to work on patches!! These pictures are taken from various vantage points from the climb (the High Millenium camp at 12,400ft., the Lava Tower camp at 14,700 ft, and the summit at 16,000ft.) Thanks! Kapanya

The Ride of My Life

I am not the type of person who writes letters, but what I just went through over the past couple of days I had to write and say THANK YOU for this amazing tape! It all started when my son, who was living in Florida, decided to move back home. I got a ride to Florida, and when I arrived, we packed up his car and hit the road. Now is when it gets nuts…about 5 miles onto the interstate the back window of the car was sucked right out of the car!  It was like a scene from a movie it just blew out into a million pieces we were lucky and right by a rest area so we pulled off and I started calling auto glass stores to try and get it fixed.

After over an hour on the phone, with no luck, we headed off to the next town and found a home repair center. I bought a cardboard box and 5 rolls of gorilla tape and taped up the back of the car, and off we went.  The amazing part is that it was about 100 degrees from Florida to Georgia and about half way into SC. We hit rain all they way through North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland. In Pennsylvania, the rain turned to snow! The trip was over 1200 miles and most of the way we drove 65 to 70 miles per hour, and not a drop of water came in to the car. The tape held up beautifully!! Again, I say THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU,  John E.

Building Beautiful Boats with Gorilla Glue

I've been using Gorilla Glue on all my wood boat projects for the past 6 years.  After doing many tests, I was convinced it worked better than regular wood glues.  In the past six years I've built two all wood boats and more than a dozen wood decks using Gorilla Glue. Great stuff!!!  You can see some of my wood projects at johnmillerboats.com
Thanks, John M

The Gorilla Goes Canyoneering

The extreme sport of canyoneering is hard on clothes (and everything else). I've ruined countless pairs of pants and have used duct tape to repair holes and tears. Conventional duct tape is good for one or two outings but then it's done for. The glue gives up the ghost, or it never stuck well to begin with. Gorilla Tape is far superior to anything I have tried; it doesn't come off in the canyon, or in the wash at home! Thanks, Matt Maxon

Reviving a Beloved Guitar

My husband has had a beloved guitar that had a broken neck, this as you might expect, ruins the guitar and makes it impossible to keep it in tune. He has kept it for years and keeps retuning it over and over and playing it. Last night in the middle of the night, he thought of Gorilla Glue and jumped out of bed, and spent the entire night gluing and putting braces on the guitar neck. The glue totally has fixed his beloved guitar! It stays in tune now, and sounds like it did the day he bought it. He is so happy and thrilled that he doesn't have to throw away his guitar that he loves so much and has so much personal meaning to him. Thank you for making such a superior product. It has meant the world to us. We appreciate Gorilla Glue more than we can say, Anne Gwin

The Gorilla Takes a Turn Workin’ on the Railroad

I have been working on the railroad for 13 years now for a South Florida commuter rail system. As the equipment gets older, the more problems there are. We acquired a bottle of Gorilla Glue and tried it on some of the repairs that we had failed to repair in the past. We tried the Gorilla on a disconnected stainless steel handrail for the stairs. It’s been months after the repair, and the railing is still holding strong with hundreds of passengers in and out tugging on it with all their weight all day and night. Thanks Gorilla Glue for an incredible product that I will not be using only at work!!!! Thanks, Lenny.
